2. Operation Rescue.
I still don't consider it a "hate" group in exactly the same way that way many do, but I was a member. I used to try to stop women from going into PP clinics. :shame:

6. really?
I guess I wasn't expecting a serious answer...

In that case I should fess up that 20 years ago I tried to talk gay friends out of being gay - which didnt work and I hurt them and ruined the friendships.

This year I am going to campaign against the "defense of marriage" amendment and do public speaking for it. Kind of funny to realize how you can end up in the opposite place from where you started.

13. Probably the loss of those two friendships, more than anything else
One male, the other female. I was never nasty about it, but I am a Christian and I believed it was wrong and that people had a choice about their sexual orientation. I got to know these two people well enough to understand that they really didn't have a choice. I realized I was judgmental and that this was wrong, and I resolved to be totally accepting of any gay people I met in the future. Now I have lots of gay friends.

I decided to work on the campaign- and do speaking primarily in churches- because I understand their reasoning so well, and I think some people would listen to me. I now believe that because I am a Christian I should speak up for gay peoples rights to marriage equality.

27. I truly can't say. It was part of a shift that took years --
and that included my coming out of the closet, coming out for reproductive rights, re-thinking my blind devotion to fundamentalist beliefs (and their ultimate rejection), and serious psychotherapy.

I think the short answer is that I began to think. But honestly, I barely remember my life from about 1984 until I turned 30, almost ten years later.

36. I was in that group too, and I was old enough to know better.
I hated Ronald Reagan (I still do, but that lucky rat bastard probably got into heaven because he honestly couldn't remember anything.)

I hated nuclear energy and nuclear weapons.

I hated the big corporations that were destroying the earth.

I hated all the people who had used me, and rarely acknowledged all the good people who had helped me.

I was sweet chocolate on the outside and unstable toxic waste on the inside; spit me out awful bad.

33. I hated high school
You remember the movie The Breakfast Club? Well our school was like that but worse. And I didn't fit into any cliques at all.

Got my mom to sign me into the U.S.N at 17.

Of course I had already decided that I was going in when I was 12 so I had a lot of time to think about it.

May I have the SCOTUS job now?
