Poll question: Spies, spies, spies: Who's your favorite spy author?
Anyone else enjoy a good spy novel?
What author do you like?

1. Not a big fan of spy novels anymore.
But I still re-read Deighton's Berlin Game/Mexico Set/London Match trilogy. Good stuff.

2. I loved the Constant Gardener
And Absolute Friends, but I haven't read any of the others. Ludlum just bores me now.

3. I probably enjoy Nelson DeMille the most
The only le Carre I've read is "Absolute Friends" which I thought was excellent. My favorite spy novels are the CIA epics "The Company" by Robert Littell and "Harlot's Ghost" by Norman Mailer (which desperately needs a sequel). I've also really enjoyed Jim Hougan's (and with his wife as Jim Case) conspiracy theory novels - "Kingdom Come" being the best.

6. LeCarre is awesome
I really like Clancy when he's not preaching from the pulpit of the hard right
