For "Requiem" alone. And some argue that that's not even the best song on there.

..."Requiem" isn't on this one; this is the 10" EP which they released prior to the debut LP.

But it's every bit as good as the "Requiem" LP.

Nervous System/Are You Receiving?/Turn to Red.

Here it is:

http://www.wintergardens.plus.com/nervous10.html

This is the edition I have, with the inserts. I might even have two copies.

on edit: I suppose I should state the KJ are probably my favourite band ever. I've seen them perform 14 times.

Seeing Killing Joke perform live is the closest thing to a religious experience I've ever had. No wonder Jaz Coleman calls their fans "gatherers".

47. Cool, thanks!
He's an interesting cat. Manic Depressive, too.

He used to move his family from one country to another (Iceland, New Zealand), based on Jane's Defense Quarterly's annual prediction of what country would be safest in the event of a global nuclear war. He's not a "survivalist" in the Ted Nugent/Billy-Bob sense, but he has said that he is looking forward to a mass cleansing of humans by the planet, and a fresh start to humanity.

It's a good thing you didn't ask him about numerology; you'd still be doing the interview.

48. It was a long interview as it was.
I remember seeing him on this Canadian TV show called "The New Music" in about 1982, and the chipper hostess was just asking him all about why he was so optimistic about widespread nuclear destruction.

I bought everything I could find after seeing that. The first albums (I eventually gave up for a while after Brighter than a Thousand Suns), the 7" "Chop Chop" single, a few EPs.

Jaz Coleman has always struck me as an extremely interesting guy, and everyone in the band was incredible. Geordie, Youth, and what guy was the original drummer? Paul Ferguson? Geordie was the most amazing rock guitarist.

When I talked to Jaz, he was living in New Zealand.

50. They're still at it.
Paul Ferguson is gone, but Geordie, Youth, Raven (sometimes) and Jazz are still recording and touring.

They have released two full-lengths since Pandemoneum: "Democracy" and "Killing Joke" (the latter aslo known as "The Perverted Pantomime" in some circles).

They're very good. "Democracy is rather stripped-down, musically, but still characteristically powerful. Coleman's cynical lyrics are still there, but there's something almost... optomistic?

I don't LOVE the most recent "Killing Joke"; but I didn't like "Night Time" at first, either.

BTW, when they were in "label limbo", the managed to ger a metal label to release a double album of theirs around 1990. It's called "Extremeties, Dirt, & Various Repressed Emotions", and it's a masterpiece, despite some uncharacteristically muddy production. Unfortunately, it suffered from very poor distribution, and didn't sell well. If you can find a copy, it's well worth a listen.

27. 14mm Pentax XW
That's my overall favorite eye piece. Long eye relief, proprietary lens coatings, internal baffles and computer ray-traced optical path give sharp, high contrast views with a 70 deg. apparent field of view. Despite being an eight element lens system, it is also excellent for hydrogen alpha solar observing. For just planets, probably the 8mm Televue Ploessl. Most Ploessels are Chinese crap with no attention to detail in design, material or construction. Televue Ploessls are works of art with darkened edges, light-baffled surfaces around the eye lens and superbly shaped lenses create an excellent system for high power planet viewing. For just deep sky or rich field in the TV101, The 22mm Panoptic would be pretty hard to beat. The Wide 68 deg. field of view is sharp and contrasty edge to edge.
