Wasn't it just last night I was wishing for a cat? One found me tonight
Edited on Sat Dec-17-05 01:40 AM by Hardhead
I stepped outside for a minute and he darted out from under my truck and rubbed up against my legs. We've spent the entire night introducing him to the golden retreiver, whom he does not like very much. Poor thing was out in the cold (34 degrees) and was ravenously hungry. He's warm and purring now. A real purr-box. Tiddlywinks is already in love with him. She's cuddling him in bed. Daisy the dog is jealous. I think we've found our master. He's all gray and is about 8 months old, very healthy but no collar, no tag, and very scared and hungry.

1. Wow! that is amazing
but kitties are like that. They respond to some other wave length or something.
Daisy will find some qualities in the new kitty that should make it all more fun. Love those gray kitties.

4. please remember...
...that someone somewhere may love that cat and be waiting for it to come home. You ought to post some "found" signs here and there to see if that is so. It's the right thing to do.

I don't know what I'll do yet, but I'm not going to assume he's mine.

5. Yay!
I agree with the post above that you should put up posters, but YAY!

A kitty found you! And if he's already kicked-back and purring, he's definitely a keeper :P

11. Awwwwww!

Gray kitties are special. Not a lot of them around, and winners every time.

I don't know, I say finders keepers. He found you, he's happy, and he should get to keep you. If the kitty did belong to someone else who loved him, why was he running around ravenously hungry in 34 degrees without a collar? Unless he became lost from a loving home, but then there should be flyers in the neighborhood and a report of him missing at the local pound, people out looking for him and getting the word out that he's missing, and maybe a "lost" ad in the local paper. If not... he's yours.

12. Hardhead wants to be responsible and
try to find kitty's rightful owners. He says grey cat could have "escaped" like what happened to his favorite childhood cat when it chewed through a screen door.

By the way, the Dooz and grey cat are acclimatizing to one another nicely.
Grey kitty has been batting around the long-haired, wagging tail of Dooz. Very cute.
I say we name it JC, for Jesus Christ.

We're going to the store for a box and litter momentarily!

"Have you found Jesus?"

18. This is definitely someone's lost kitty
The second I poured the litter in the box, he hopped in and peed like a Russian racehorse. I'll have to go knocking on doors in the neighborhood and find out where he lives.

21. Just remember this one thing about kitties.
They aren't yours - you're theirs!

We're owned by two, a flamepoint Siamese named Casper and a black Bombay named Tabaxi, and they're both sweethearts.

Regards,

RJnAbbysNana
