6. Not new, just hasn't been re-posted in a LONG time.
It was posted back when I first brought him home, but unlike the classic grinning Quinn shot, it's only been re-posted once or twice since then. The other one has been re-posted pretty regularly :P

76. I wish I had more baby pictures of my kitties
So I could prove to them that they were once the size of their heads...at least Plato (18lbs) and Socrates (20lbs) got that big... :P The triplets weighed a pound each when we rescued them - Evie is a more "normal" 11 lbs, but still rules over her brothers. :D

Quinn looked majestic (in a fluffy kind of way) even back then!

28. It was her favorite place to sleep
from the time she was big enough to climb into it (about 3 weeks) until she outgrew it (about 5 weeks). When she was real teeny, I'd lay her down and she'd scoot to the closest 'thing' to cuddle against, as long as it wasn't the 'thing' I laid her next to. Stubborn little whore, just like her mamma!

BTW, her nickname is Little Whore; I wouldn't call her that for no reason.

55. Hi Bertha!
doing pretty well, except I keep losing foster kittens to terrible diseases, so I'm out of that business for a while. How about yourself?

I'm still debating with myself about whether or not I want to adopt this big beast. Our rescue doesn't do cats that are more wild than domestic, and the owner wants me to take him-he's sweet but chews everything in sight, apparently. I'm just worried that he might chew an electrical cord while he's here! Also, I'm a bit worried about how my other cats will feel about another one that's even bigger than Oberon. Oh well, I have two more weeks to think about it.

57. A Savannah. He's half African Serval, half Bengal cat
which makes him mostly wild. He has a nice personality, I'm just worried about compatibility with the others (he must weigh at least 25 pounds) and the chewing-which is why his owner wants to give him up.

Daddy looks like this:

61. Thanks Bertha :-). Yeah, the owner says that tabasco sauce
pepper powder and bitter apple don't deter him much. I wonder if he's reacting to her, since she's a bit much to handle herself. Maybe it's stress related? If I take him, I really hope I can leash train him. I walk my Turkish Angora Puck every day, and it's really helped to calm her down (she's also a highly intelligent cat who gets easily bored). I just don't know if I could handle him if he freaked out on the leash!

Well, I'll decide one way or another soon.

How is your brood? I hope they've all been healthy.

Caindy's ass is not shiny and semi-bald anymore, LOL. I seriously wasn't thinking when I named such a big butted cat Caindy.
We have had a cold snap and their heads are peeping out from the down blanket right now. they are either running around like lunatics and climbing as high as they can, , in my lap or in bed under the covers. i love em though, i could never had two if they had regular coats, my allergies get so bad and i'm not reacting at all to them. i'm lucky to have found them. you know peace buzzard helped me with that, i'm sure you saw the katrina stuff she did. amazing woman. Caindy is her little god-kitty, 1/2 named for her.

66. Awww.. what a cute image! All those little ones under the blankets
it's so funny the way cats bounce off the wall during cold snaps!Even my nearly 17 year old has been racing down the hallway, lol!

Yeah, our rescue has been back and forth to NOLA several times too. We sent 9 cargo vans of pet food and supplies there, and took back at least as many full of dogs and cats (more dogs than cats-the cats are very good at hiding). It's so sad; there's STILL a huge need for rescuers out there!

What's Caindy's story? Sounds like she's been through a lot!

68. Caindy and Sweet Pea were given up by some weird breeder who was
Edited on Wed Dec-14-05 11:59 PM by bettyellen
dumping 5 or 6 Cornish Rex at one time down in Memphis. Now, I have rescued loads of kittens and found them homes over the years, and I knew i could never have two cats because I'm pretty allergic to most of them, also, my dear departed little girl would flip out everytime i brought in another kitten to save. i was afraid of getting a kitten and finding out 6 mos later it made me too sick. the really plush kitties put me in hell, you know? But I was sort of determined to have two kitties because i think it's too lonely for em to be alone when i am working. So after Little Girl passed on, I did some research on kitties and allergans etc, and I found out about the Crex. Their freaky looks and quirky very active personalities really appealed to me, but I knew I couldn't go to a breeder, i just wouldn't feel right. i have always rescued. so i did Petfinder for months, and many of these adoptees have issues with other cats, turns out they bond heavily with the human and very often do not want another cat near you. two of them had issues with other people, wacky, huh?
so i almost gave up and then i see this thing on Petfinder, no pics, but the woman emails me all the pics and there's the two girls together, semi-bald w/ saggy little boobs in a cinderblock basement hell, being described as "Bad Mamas" . All the other kitties had the thick wavy coats and didn't look as needy to me. They both had litters earlier this year- the woman wouldn't explain what was so bad about em! One of them (Caindy) was actually named Krie Krie Babie, "KKB for short" !! WTF is that? ... So I knew I had to get them out of there. I was palnning on driving down, and my car had a bad accident, and then I out of nowhere i had to work a lot couldn't get off. They put me through this big process and took my adoption and surgery (neutering) money and i wasn't sure i wasn't going to get screwed because i already paid that before the car accident. The crazy breeder had them and was putting pressure on me to get em, and the rescue lady was i know on a very tight budget. She never did get them fixed, kept my money though. I posted on those railroad / tranport things and nothing worked out, then Peace Buzzard stepped in, I bought them little kitty airline tickets and she flew them up because she goes from TN to NY all the time. Of course during this the airline strike was about to happen, and i was supposed to be moving. whew. :D. The whole thing took more than three months, I almost gave up. but i used to stare at pictures of them and worry. They said the breeder had pretty nasty conditions and did not seem to actually sell any kitties or have a business and she wanted em out. . look at them, don't they break your heart? and you know, the minute they got here, they were all over me. no hiding anywhere, not an aloof moment. i love that, the aloof thing is not my bag. The Smoked Tortie is Caindy (For Cindy and Andy) and The Chocolate /white is Sweet Pea. I gotta take some new pics, they are so much cuter- and happier now.
These are the pics that broke my heart:

69. And here are the boys i passed up......
because they were already fixed and had thick full wavy coats, i knew they'd find homes. That's Oreo, Mc Cloud and WeeBee, all boys. Penny found homes for all of them, but god love her she ceased all contact with me when i sent her a DU link to show her the great things Peace Buzzard was doing in NOLA. We were right to fudge things a little and say we had a mutual friend (Bill Clinton, LOL).
She probably never would have handed the gals over to rabid progressives like us. But the pics scare me, this is where the breeder kept em? It looks so moldy and cold!

Poor things. Reminds me of a Turkish Angora breeder's home I went to visit when I was looking for a Turk to adopt. It reeked, and everything was filthy. Plus, there was a portrait of * and Pickles on the FRONT DOOR! What is it with rabid repukes and purebred animals? Anyway, I'm sure glad that you gave those girls a wonderful new home. 51. He simply ADORES kittens

He's weirdly paternal-bordering on the Michael Jackson of the kitty world. In some ways it's too bad that he'll never have any of his own!

46. That's the same look Yogi gets when he is playing pirate.
LOL. It's so cute. And Yogi growls like he is roaring too when he does it.

That kitten is adorable. I love it. Keep 'em coming.
