A few moments ago I heard the tow truck idling. One of my neighbors regularly parks directly in front of their garage door...parallel to and right on top of the giant red & white pavement stripe that says "FIRE LANE - NO PARKING." They do this 7 days a week...at night they park the car on the street (we only have 6 parking spaces in the townhouse property common parking, and residents aren't supposed to use them). First thing in the morning she brings the car from the street to the front of the garage.
Someone apparently busted her. (NO, smartass, it wasn't ME. I feel like justice was served, but it wasn't me).
The guy sat in the truck for a moment, scoped out the place, turned it around, backed it up to the car, lifted the winch, strapped on the tires and drove off. It REALLY was a literal "gone in 60 seconds" scenario. He kept one eye on the car and the other on the woman's front door. He left without being detected.
Note to self: Never park in the fire lane (I don't anyway, but after today, I REALLY won't).
