7. I was hoping to hear reasons AGAINST first...
since, after all, in my book, anyone who is articulate, sharp (and good at memorizing details quickly) and good in front of the camera is qualified (and it goes without saying, honest).

so he's got all of that. so why do you think he, or say, Tom Hanks, would not be suited to it?

my reasoning is simply that, a) in times of tension, what better way to ease it than with a guy like him in front of the camera?, and b) what better way for a president to underscore the point that he's the president for children also...and Carrey is of course quite beloved among the kids. :)

(it's not like he didn't do movies like The Truman Show, The Majestic and LiarLiar)

4. He could play his role from "Liar, Liar"
Wasn't that the movie where he couldn't tell a lie?

5. funny you should say that...
cuz I'm about to have a short story published about what a mistake it was for Clark not to be the nominee and it incorporates that movie into it.

8. Rubber faced press sec'y.
I love this idea. Can you imagine the mucking for the camera?

After Simple Scotty, Jim Carrey would be a breath of fresh air.

Helen Thomas, get ready for interesting press conferences.

12. I was think more along the lines of Robin Williams.
Everyone seems to like him and he's a bit smarter than Carrey.
