I know this is pedestrian, but help me think of movies about families
My friend is a teacher, and she needs a list of CLEAN movies about families.

You know, like My Big Fat Greek Wedding, A Family Thing and dreck like that.

Cute, heartwarming, funny movies about families. :puke:

No sex or violence or foul language. :wtf:

Can you help?

My friend thanks you.

American Beauty is more like it in my book. Also The Ice Storm. I hear The Squid and The Whale is good as well.

8. Paper Moon
A nice little black and white comedy about a father and daughter and their adventures in prohibition era Kansas and Missouri. There is the slightest of profanity but it certainly is a winning "family" movie.

Not all cute though always uplifting. PG. A wonderful movie. 1945. Dorothy McGuire, James Dunn, Joan Blondell, Lloyd Nolan, James Gleason. Directed by Elia Kazan. Full of grace, sacrifice, loss and redemption.

16. the more i think of it, the fewer good family movies i can think of -
this one tops them. tragic loss of mother & sibs. only child lost. father stops at nothing to find him and both make several friends along the way.

That oughta start some dialog about traditional roles. Besides, the kids will go ape over the part when the baby farts.

Try "Tex" it's an adaptation of an S.E. Hinton novel. Good little story.

30. If the kids are older than how about The Straight Story?
I believe it's a G rating, yet is a David Lynch movie. Not cute, not heartwarming-more introspective.

Otherwise, go for one of my families favorites-the original Cheaper by the Dozen w/ Myrna Loy. Great movie, true story.

34. "Little Women" is one of my favorites
The modern version with Susan Sarandon, Christian Bale, and Claire Danes is lovely. As is the older version with Elizabeth Taylor.

"Meet Me In St. Louis" (starring Judy Garland) is also good.

36. Avalon
I'm not sure if it's 100% curseword free, but it's great and I consider it a family film.

But wait, you said heartwarming. This is more reflective... dramatic. It has a very good message, though.
