(or the Holiday Season, if you prefer)

I'm making a list.
Anything goes.

14. Well...
I just got myself "Crows and Jays," "Warblers of the Americas," "Kingfishers, Bee-Eaters, and Rollers," and Sibley & Monroe.

But I still want some field guides for christmas. Thailand, Africa, Australia...

And I want 10 Erigerons, 7 Eriogonums, 10 Leptodactylons, 5 Mimulis, 10 Penstemons, and 3 Salvias.

Please. :)

Santa, if you're reading this, I'd like SE USA bird books that I can actually carry around (I love the Sibley book that you brought me a couple of years ago, but you can't carry that around with you in the woods).

Plants: a nice collection of Chinese tree peonies.

1997 model Ferrari F355 Spyder, Cobalt blue, tan interior with the F1 paddle shift if you please.

And one of these

North American P-51D Mustang. Painted to match the Ferrari would be nice but the polished finish is fine too.

I have simple tastes.

On edit to say the 355 can be had for around $80,000 these days with less than 10,000 miles but the Mustang is gonna run low 7 figures.

I'll come and pick them up.

Oh, and a spare Merlin or Rolls V-12 engine for the '51 would be a nice stocking stuffer.

114. RABID NUN INFECTS ENTIRE CONVENT!
Edited on Fri Dec-02-05 10:24 PM by Radio_Lady
For a roaring good time, read about a new book with this title at the web site, cited below.

If you're in Portland, Oregon, the author, Tom D'Antoni will be at Powell's downtown bookstore for a reading on Monday, December 5, 2005 at 7:30 PM.

www.rabidnun.com

I interviewed the author on my audio show. He's a writer, reporter, documentarian, etc. with a new book about the stories he wrote --right out of his head -- that means completely false and made-up stories -- for one of the more popular American tabloid newspapers. Funny as all get out.

37. To do as my spouse and I did last year
on Xmas day...serve dinner on our china--just the two of us. We wore jammies with robes, listened to XM radio, and had a candlelight dinner. Not having to travel and just having our own tradition of just being with my spouse I love so much. We're not into the family get togethers as both my spouse and I didn't have the most positive experiences at Xmas time with our nuclear families. We love our families, but we both like being in our home during Xmas, even if we don't do a lot!

I tend to be an American consumer for wanting presents, but also don't see the point of purchasing much when the two of us buy little presents or do things for each other most of the year. :pals: I do like listening to Xmas music though, and feeding our pets treats, putting red ribbons with bells around their necks (mainly for the kitties) because they are good babies!

134. Dear Reverend Santa Cheesehead Claus:

I like your taste, and I trust your judgment. Therefore, I will let you surprise me.

In the interests of full disclosure, I have been a fairly good girl this year, better than most years, but not as good as a few. However, as you know, those benchmark "good" years took place when I was quite a bit younger and had significantly fewer responsibilities. Say, age five. So I don't know that it is fair, really, to keep the bar quite that high these days. Also, I was wondering if you could please grade on a curve this year. This should probably entail tossing out both my best and worst overall years as a matter of principle, to maintain the integrity of the scoring system. Finally, any badness of mine you may have observed over the past couple of days is completely out of character for me, and was completely provoked by one or two certain naughty boys, with whom I'm sure you are quite familiar. To this end, any such recent naughtiness on my part should not be credited to my gift quota, but to theirs.

Okay, and lastly, I am a fellow Cheesehead, so I think that should score me a few bonus points. Not that you would ever engage in nepotism or anything. Oh yeah, and I love you more than anybody else on this board ever could.

Thank you, Reverend Santa Cheesehead Claus!

149. THANK YOU!
I've read about the hijackthis! program but haven't been able to get any confirmation from tech-minded friends that this is a good (or bad) program.

I saved that site to my Favorites. I don't want to try to download now, because I've only got a few more minutes online for now. I will definitely go back late tonight (early morning your time) and see what results I get with it. Can I email you the results?

224. Ah, the deepest desire of all.
Love begins with giving, and opening ourselves to new possibilities. If there is no love from family, then create your own family of good friends. If there is no romantic interest, then focus your love on those whose lives are lonely.

The first, great love is love of self. When we can claim our own personhood, our own soul, and embrace it without regret or reservation, then we are ready to love others... and only then, can we freely give ourselves to others.

A blessed Christmas to you, dear... and may your new year be filled with love.

233. Whew... I was getting worried for a sec...
I didn't want to start a riot or anything, so I'll just say "first come, first served." :)

229. Nothing fancy...
I've got DVDs, CDs, books, and a few more towels/jeans coming my way as it is, which means material things are mostly taken care of.

So there's only two things left...Bush and all his cronies unceremoniously thrown out, and a black silk shirt, men's XXL.

Is this what you were thinking of? It's a "Forzieri Dramatic Black Pure Silk Dress Shirt."

Or do you want something simpler and fun-loving?

tjwmason tied up in my bed so I can deal with him at my leisure.

Books. Lots of books. Huge mountains of books.

A maid... this place is a pig sty. (mostly because of all the books stacked on the floor.)

Khash.

257. Keepin' it short. Keepin' it real.
1) Peace on earth, good will to men. For all the hungry people around the world to be fed, for the cold to be clothed, for the sick to be cured, for the lonely to find love.

Sappy, yes? But true?

Most indeed.

Oh, and an iPod would be nice, too.
