Poll question: Your favorite gift the Earth brings you.
Are you a poofy cloud type person, or do you like a colorful sunset? How about a display of heat lighning, or an orange full moon?

What do you like best about the Earth, it's elements, or the sky?

Gimli Canada, eastern Manitoba. I fly in there every summer for some of the best fishing in the world.

12. Never have, always wanted to.
We fly into Gimli, then drive to Pine Dock. Thats where we catch the float planes going to various lakes. One hell of a trip, even if you don't fish.

18. Fishing is peaceful.
I fish with my Pop every so often. He is funny about it. He talks to the fish, and lets them know he is going to let them go.

but I have to go with a whitewater stream!

Even better, a whitewater stream combined with pretty much any of the above! :D

7. Yeah! A stream under a colorful sunset with a full moon visable!
Surrounded by trees with colorful leaves and followed by a meteor shower.

That sounds good.

4. Impossible to choose, they're all beautiful...
...flying dandelion seeds. The forty shades of rust and brown in a dried out patch of sorrel. A cat moving, or a horse. The deep shade and splatches of light in a beech forest. The smell of sunwarmed raspberries, the sound of a brook in the forest; a soft, cooling wind on a hot day. Sparrows chirping.

No, I can't choose. I need them all :)

13. Yes :) All things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small :)
The metal sheen on beetles wings, the fur of a mole, baby rabbits, starry nights in the South... there is no end.

We have it good, don't we?

19. Florida has some nice sunsets.
The best I have seen were actually in Iraq. Such a beautiful country, it is ashamed what is happening there.

I can't say I have seen one over the pacific, though. Have at Tahoe, on vacation once.

Edited on Wed Nov-23-05 06:47 PM by ocelot
Really astonishing sometimes. Once I saw the aurora from an airplane (I could see the whole sky, since I was flying the plane) and it was incredible -- an immense green curtain undulating across the sky.

Edited on Wed Nov-23-05 05:57 PM by redqueen
I couldn't possibly pick a favorite... the stars at night, the clouds, trees, dust devils on country roads, birds of prey in flight... heck even condensation on a window. I fall in love with it all.

I almost forgot... the sky in the country... you can see storms from miles away... it's fantastic.

29. Thank you, Miss Grumpy!
I was thinking of things to be thankful for. I am no longer a Christian, so I tried to associate it with things we can all find a blessing in. I feel there is great wonder in science, and in the world itself.

I have been reading too much Carl Sagan.
