Do NOT buy one of these grills.

I posted here about it a week or so ago.
Got it online from Sportsman's Guide.

It looked neat.
It ain't.

It came in a 16"X16"X6" box, assembly required.
No big surprise, it was only $29.95, made in China.

It smells like cosmiline or maybe tar. Filthy.
I built a big fire in it to burn off the preservative goop. Clouds of black smoke and a horrible odor. After it cooled, there's a black sooty crust on the outside. It still reeks. I'd NEVER cook anything on it.

So...I'll haul out my trusty ol' Brinkman Smoker that looks like R2D2

to smoke a turkey breast for the big day.
I'm smoking with pecan wood and rosemary sprigs.
mmmmm

4. It's really a POS.
I wonder what the preservative is and how carcinogenic it might be?
Plus the damn Chinese cast iron is probably full of mercury and other heavy metals and radioactive to boot.

It's cooled down now and I can still smell it in the house.
yuck

10. I've cooked turkeys on mine.
Very juicy meat. I just need to allow for more cooking time if I use indirect heat with the water smoking.

7. Maybe a mini shrimp/fish reef/habitat?
I'd sink it by my dock, but I'm afraid it would pollute the whole bay.

21. Awww its kind of cute
It might be alright if you leave it out to get all rusty for a couple of years. Then 3 or four non-cooking fires. Then again it might be made from recycled steel from Chernobyl or something hahahahha
