3. It's great that way, but be careful. Lot's of houses burn down every...
year because of fried turkey.

11. Well, we will fry it outside. My husband
has a turkey fryer that uses a butane tank. There is no way we would use it inside. :)

5. Careful, there
That hot oil has a way of getting away from people. Don't leave it unattended, always have somebody watching an open flame, outdoors, like you normally would.

6. Ooooh be careful
Those things can be dangerous - the oil can catch fire very easily and turn your turkey fryer into a bomb - literally!

13. We've done it before. It is quite
easy if you have a turkey frier. You just season it up, inject the marinade you want into the bird (let it sit for a while) and then fry it for about 30-45 minutes!!

10. It's good, but kinda defeats the purpose
Turkey is supposed to be healthy...and this undoes all that...LOL

14. To me it sounds like it would just
be greasy. But people say that it is so good.

I just can't imagine it.

17. It isn't like fried chicken. You don't
put flour on it and fry it. It just makes the skin kind of crispy. The inside of the turkey isn't greasy at all!! :9

CORNFLAKES?????

It just sounds gross... although, like I said people have said it's REALLY good. I'll try anything once.... how far is your place from Austin? :P

No cornflakes!! :puke: :P

This is what my hubby will look like frying our turkey this year (this is just a random picture of a random person, not my hubby)

27. I wasn't sure about it either until I ate turkey my dad deep fried.
My sister and BIL gave him a turkey fryer for Christmas a few years ago, but my first taste of fried turkey was summer 2004. It was really good.

What a mess, though. I have no desire to own a turkey fryer. I'll settle for making homemade doughnuts in my Fry Daddy. :P

18. It's really quite moist and delicious.
The skin is very crispy, but I don't eat the skin anyway.

Nevertheless, I plan to roast my turkey as usual.

One of the many drawbacks of deep frying a turkey is that there are no good pan drippings to make gravy with!

Chocolate - good for brain chemistry.

See? All healthful foods!

28. Absolutely! That is the way I like to think of it!!
Plus it is one day a year and if we can't overindulge once a year, then when can we? Of course, Christmas dinner at my mom's is somewhat similar to Thanksgiving!! Gotta love the holidays.

I didn't eat any, but other people seemed to like it.

We would never cook it inside! The turkey frier has a butane tank that goes with it.

I detest the smell of grease- I probably fry food about once a year.

your turkey with onions, garlic, and jalapenos it adds to the flavor. And be careful.
