I made a coat. How do you like it so far?
Edited on Mon Nov-07-05 01:57 PM by devilgrrl
It's not quite finished, I have to reinforce stitch here and there, plus finishing the buttonhole. Then there are the sleeves to contend with..... The coat is reversible and the sleeves are a real pain in the butt!!!!! :hurts:

Anyway here it is:

What do you think?

P.S. I'm going to make a hat to go with it. :-)

7. Nice. Is the red fabric fuzzy knit stuff?
If it is I have a long sleeved shirt that matches it and love to wear it. Nice and fuzzy coat, good job!

8. It's very velvety
It's also reversable, so I can wear the red side out as well. :-)

Also, I can't wait to test its warmth when I head back to western New York for the holidays. :-)

Gotta finish it first. :-(

23. What are you making it from?
Are you sewing it? Or using a sweater machine of some sort?

Just curious...

25. Sewing machine...
from a pattern by McCalls.

In matter of fact, I'm just about finished with it, I just have to shore up around the pockets. The only negative thing is that I kind of f***ed up the button hole. :-(

Hey, I was my first attempt

I'll post pictures of the finished product tomorrow.

12. Fun Fir and this velvety fabric...
it's the first time I've ever sewn a coat. The sleeves are a pain but for the most part, it was a breeze. Can't wait to try another one. :-)

16. NICE!
I'm sure it will go well with the weather you encounter in New York...

Might be too warm out here, though, except on the rare really cold day...

But I LIKE it! You've done a fantastic job...plus hat and scarf?

Wowee! You go, girl......

17. It'll be fine in the high desert during the winter.
It can get pretty cold up in Joshua Tree during February.

Thanks. :-)
