What do you think about the way Capote was portrayed?
I remember the book and the movie "In Cold Blood" and this movie looked so much like it. Even the actor playing Perry Smith looked amazingly like Robert Blake who played him "In Cold Blood."
I saw the play Tru on Broadway some years ago and I thought that version of Capote would never be topped--pardon the pun--but I think this one was just sublime.
I remember Truman Capote back in those days, his voice and mannerisms. Hoffman was uncannily like him. He was so totally believable.
Catherine Keener was excellent as Harper Lee. Another Oscar bid if you ask me.
I think this film will get lots of nominations and I hope some Oscars. But I've seen excellent movies that didn't get too far in the Oscars (I'm thinking most recently about "Kinsey" which I thought was one of the best movies of 2004.
What else has Hoffman done? I don't recall ever seeing him.
