My 15,000th post

Well, it’s been a long strange trip thus far and I’m not sure exactly how I feel about this little milestone. I’ve met some of my best friends through DU...y’all all know who you are and I love you dearly...even the one who apparently isn’t currently talking to me. :grouphug:

I’ve had the good fortune to meet a lot of DUers over the last couple of years (probably more than anyone other than Will) and I’ve got to say...you’re all gems. DUers in Cali took care of me during the world’s longest airport layover back in July...people who had never met me and didn’t know me from a rutabaga. DUers held me up through losing Andy. DUers in Austin keep me from being a total recluse. I’ve met the greatest bunch of people you could ever hope to meet...over and over and over again in Seattle and Austin and Houston and Crawford and North Carolina and DC.

Anyway after more than 4 years and 15,000 posts there are some things worth remembering.

Things I miss:
Short bus president and DarkPhenyx - my favorite banned DUers :toast:
Andy Stephenson and kephra :cry:
The Grotto :evilgrin:
The Ask the Administrators forum
Being able to call a troll a troll

Things I don’t miss:
The primary wars in GD
The primary wars in GD
Did I mention the primary wars in GD

Funniest moment...in GD:
Tie between being called a “victim” for standing up for Will Pitt during the primary wars and being called a “repressed neo-con” for insisting that people not use sexist language on a liberal discussion board. *snort* :eyes:

Funniest moment…really:
The “Things not to say at The Passion of the Christ” thread in the Lounge. We’re all going to hell in a handbasket. :spank:
