How embarrassing
I was just singing "I Feel Pretty" from West Side Story at the top of my lungs, getting carried away with the hilarity of it all. When I was done, I opened the door, and discovered that my new neighbors are moving into the house next door, and I was plainly audible the entire time.

I always make a great first impression. At least I wasn't singing Springtime for Hitler. :7

1. Well, at least
your new neighbors know that you are going to be a fun neighbor. I'd rather hear my neighbors sing than fight.

3. They probably aren't thinking
1/10 of what you think they are thinking. I wouldn't worry about it. You had some good natured fun. What's that saying? (Irish I think) "Sing as if no one were listening and dance as if no one were watching". Good for you.:applause:

5. In my better moments, that's my attitude

But I know perfectly well I can't sing a note, so it must have been hideous to listen to, and my voice carries very far. Maybe I should crank up Springtime for Hitler after all, and give it a good run-through. Just to break the neighbors in a bit.

11. This reminds me of
something that happened years ago when I, my husband, and his brother were driving to Tennessee. My husband also can't sing a note, but was singing along with the car radio. His brother said, "you know---I used to wish I could sing, but now---I wish you could".

4. Hm...a guy singing "I Feel Pretty"?
I suspect they are so busy moving in that they scarcely noticed you!

At least, you can hope!

:scared:

6. It's funny. My SO loves this song, the whole West Side Story thing
She asked me to purchase a couple of tunes from the original Broadway production. So they popped up on iTunes and I was enjoying them. They may have heard me singing the Jet song as well. Man. My reputation in this little redneck town will never be the same again. "You see that guy over there? He likes...show tunes."

"Whoa..."

9. Alas, I wasn't
I was singing the original lyrics. Loudly. "It's a pity how pretty I feel! And I pity any girl who isn't me tonight!"
