One of my co-workers was killed yesterday
Edited on Thu Oct-06-05 04:21 PM by skygazer
Car accident. :( His wife is on life support. ~sigh~

It was a pretty gloomy day at work - my co-workers are like family.

edited to add - It really sucks too because he was a guy who had turned his life around. He'd done some stupid stuff when he was younger and had a felony conviction - my boss gave him a chance and he made good use of it. He was a hard worker and a dependable employee but he was also a good man, a good friend and a good father. He was 54.

7. I am sorry about your co worker
It is always hard losing someone who you are close to, especially if it is unexpected.
Has anyone heard from their children? Are they adults or still at home?

9. They all live in the same area
The kids are adults - they were all at the hospital with his wife today. Several of his closest friends went over to see how they were holding up and to offer their sympathy, ask if there was anything we could do.

Their young baby grandchild was in the car as well - thankfully, the baby was uninjured.

Yet another reminder as to the ephemeral nature of our lives....

Blessings to his family and friends...

11. So true
Last night, I was excited to receive some photos of my daughter trying on her wedding gown (she's getting married next summer) - today, I arrived at work to hear the news of my friend's death. I'd seen him the day before.

It gives you a strange feeling to reflect upon how quickly things can change...

Thanks.

14. One way to view that:
As sad as it is for those left behind; see it as confirmation that he had learned the lesson he set for himself before starting this life; and will now be able to progress higher in his development as a soul. I had a similar experience with a fiance and I am (now) very happy for him...he is moving foreward. I do not mean to sound flippant.....
