Populist junk. Listenable, but not compelling or interesting.

I voted for Wagner, though Puccini is a close second.

4. Couldn't have put it better myself about Verdi.
My second place goes to Monteverdi - very different style of opera to Wagner, but almost as gorgeous.

WOO HOO! I love that one!

Saw it at the Met a few years ago, and it was absolutely wonderful!

It's one of the few light operas that I enjoy, and I enjoy the hell out of it!
