Music pollution.
Edited on Wed Sep-14-05 09:11 PM by chaska
I mean it! Keep your damn "music" to yourself. I don't want to hear it. I don't want to hear it from your car, your too loud headphones, from the muzak at the mall.

I've been a serious musician for over 30 years. And whereas most people can put on music and ignore it, I can't. If there is music in my vicinity I have to listen to it, and I can barely do anything else at the same time. It's a fairly serious problem for me. What can I say, I'm sensitive that way.

And what's more, it's all so much the sound of the squeaking and squawking of the cogs and axles of the capitalist/industrial age machine.

It's either directly a product of the machine (Britney and ilk) or it's a usually incoherent reaction to the machine. I sympathize, but I'm really tired of hearing the blind pain of the young, who don't understand the source of their pain. It's maddening in its purposeless.

End rant.

Ahhhh....

I feel better.

Edit: This is not a reaction to any of the other music threads.

1. What is that saying... If it's too loud, you're too old?
:hippie:

2. No, I'm saying that if I can hear it at all it's too loud.

I need sensory deprivation. I gotta get out of Los Angeles. Too much input.

Edit: And the rant continues....

I've always felt this way. Therefore, if I am old, I have always been old. Pity me ... if you feel like it.

3. May I just add that I'm in a perfectly okay mood...
I just posted the lyrics to a song about death. It's merely a coincidence.

:)

Look, I even managed a smiley face.
