Politics Trivia
Edited on Sun Sep-11-05 12:49 PM by ps1074
In the 1992 presidential election Ross Perot came second in 2 states. What are the two states in which Bush and Clinton finished 3rd respectively?

P.S. No cheating please :)

1. Mine was one of them.
In fact Pero got his only electoral vote from my district, when Maine did its rare electoral vote split thing.

My state (SC) has voted ignorantly republican ever since 1964 with only one exception. Who was the candidate and in which year was it?

10. OK, this one's a bit tougher. And no cheating!
In 1912, Theodore Roosevelt ran the most successful third-party candidacy in history. William Howard Taft, as the Republican candidate (Woodrow Wilson being the Democrat), won only one state. Which one?

12. You're right! It was worth 8 electoral votes.
For an extra 2 points, how many EVs did the Progressive/Bull Moose Party get?

13. Come on - you're kidding, right?
I know Roosevelt won several states that year. I know he won CA and WA and barely lost Oregon. But I don't know how many EV he won.

Just a wild guess - 54?

14. Yeah, that one's kinda hard without research. It was 88.
My apologies for that one. Besides, this one's better:

Taft isn't the only major party candidate in history to only win one state. Who else has also had this happen to them (unfortunately)?

Please tell me someone knows this. :P

16. That's true, but there was another I was thinking of.
Anyone know?

That was good, though--I hadn't thought of Mondale.
