Mr. Koso is 22. The baby's mother, Crystal, is 14. He is charged with statutory rape, even though they were wed with their parents' blessing in May, crossing into Kansas because their own state prohibits marriages of people under 17.

3. Several "hick" jokes;


4. Another single mother without skills, friends, or hope;


5. Mr. Koso goes to prison for 750 years;


6. The Junior DA who prosecutes Mr. Koso gets a photo op with the governor and a high-paying job as a corporate attorney;


7. A strong Message is sent.

There is really only one solution to such outrage: mandatory celibacy for all unmarried people, enforced by long prison sentences.

Either that, or we give up our weird-and-getting-weirder disgrace of a sexual moral code and build one that deals with people, not wise-ass junior D.A. legalisms, "the textual hermeneutics of power exchange", morbid religionizing, or other political hallucinations.
