Gas-Saving tips: Post yours here!!
The one my Step-father keeps pounding into me and it's true: Always keep your tires inflated to their maximum pressure. Tires with low pressure will also lower your gas mileage!!

Also, as much as we love to speed our way along, speeding can also cost us gas mileage. So try to stick near the speed limit to help save gas.

What gas saving advise do you have!

3. The most obvious...
... is to plan errands--combine trips--make a list of what you need. Not using the car at all saves the most gas. :)

8. That's what works best for me
Also, try not to drive during peak traffic times (not practical for the 9 to 5 crowd, I know).

5. carry a hose, a funneL and breathmints in your car
find an oLder modeL vehicLe that doesn't have a key Lock on its gas cap and whenever you need to fiLL up, start syphoning.

probabLy best to do it at night time.

6. Carpool.
Combine trips.
Place ads on bulletin boards for carpools and in the local paper (if you live in a smaller area).

7. If it's hot...

USE the A/C! Opening the windows increases the car's drag considerably, so in fact, the A/C has much less effect on mileage than driving with the windows down.

9. Push the gas pedal..
.... as if it had a 500 lb spring on it.

Coast down hills. Keep an even speed, and avoid driving over 60 mph.

Keep your engine in tune. If your Check Engine or Service Engine Soon light is on, your engine needs work and is probably drinking more gas than it should.

12. Plan your route to maximize the number of right turns....
This is a really good tip. Making right turns rather than left turns saves lots of time (and gas) at stop lights.

This comes from UPS, if I remember right.
