"The Thrill is Gone" Live at Cook County Jail

2. BB Kings live albums are much better than his studio work
especially from the 70s on---his studio stuff is often over produced. His early records are fantastic, but his live albums are among the best blues ever recorded live

Live at the Regal and Blues is King are also smokin live albums from the mid-sixties

3. I would always rather buy a live record
that a studio recorded one - by any artist.

4. I agree
I love that version. If you have not seen him live in concert, I recommend that you do so before it is too late (B.B. is celebrating his 80th birthday on september 16). I have seen him twice and his was fantastic both times.

5. Definitely see him...
I've also seen him twice...once in '97, and again last summer at Eric Clapton's Crossroads Festival, and he is truly incredible. The jam at Crossroads with B.B., Buddy Guy, EC, Jimmie Vaughan and John Mayer was something to see, it put chills up my spine. 8)

7. I should pull my *album* version out
It's gotten to the point that I have plenty to listen to, but don't spend the time as I used to when I bought blues, etc.
