Hot enough for you today?
I have been such a slug. A/C cranked and holed up in my apartment. I have done absolutely nothing today but get up extra early to give the yard a good soak. It was already in the mid 80's at 8am.

It's too damn hot to go to the pool. I'm bored DU!

4. Actually it's not too bad here
All week long the temperature has done its best to reach 100 and came close on Thursday and Friday (99). But right now its only 93, mostly sunny with a slight breeze and medium to low humidity. Quite nice compared to what it could be and has been.

:hi:

I'm down in the lowcountry where SC earns the title: "Hell's half-acre". I hope you have a good time in Asheville.

I've lived here my whole life, and you do build up a resistance, but the humidity is lethal. And I mean that literally.

Chardonnay.

All of it will be poolside with friends.

We are thinking of heading to the drive-in movies afterwards. Haven't done that in years.

19. The humidity
isn't high enough yet... I don't quite feel like I am completely covered in snot.

Actually, it's only like 84 in my house, it got to 94 yesterday. Lots of cloud cover, so maybe not today.

Rain would be nice, but lightning can cause problems. And the heat and humidity (humidity-wise, admittedly rather low by standards other than those of a generally dry climates -- and heat-wise (in my case) of a generally cool climate) have been resulting in power problems. Plus, my dsl has been acting weird again (lost it for some hours -- and the IP rollover has been very frequent). (However, a power and/or weather (lightning, wind, etc) related problem may not have been the cause of the original or the ongoing problems.)

...Looks like the storms might start up -- might have to shutdown.

27. 92.3 in the yard - Fremont CA
and 75.7 in the house. Not too bad, considering I spent the week in Carrollton TX, and am grateful to be home now.

I left TX for the Bay Area in 1998 and hadn't been back since the end of that year. It's worse than ever now. I was in two conversations where "Blah blah blah THE TERRORISTS blah blah" was said in a righteous manner. Can't say "THE N*GGERS" any more, and even Dallas is getting beyond "THE GAYS" being okay to say in polite company. Just a new name for old habits.
