Any Star Wars Galaxies DUers out there?
Just started last week, getting completely addicted.

Let's meet up if we can...what server and worlds are you on/in?

1. Sell me on this MMORPG
I was there for the start of the online gaming experience and got quickly tired of PKers and camping. So sell me on this time thief and tell me what makes it worth while.

2. SWG is a MMORPG in it's latest evolutionary form
there is no TKing as it is certainly either be impossible or policed by the admins. As for camping (which is a valid tactic god damnit!) I'm not sure how effective that would be in this type of RPG. I hear it's more addicting then EverCrack.

I'm not much for RPGs so all I can really tell you is that if you want a MMOFPS try planetside in about 2 months if it's still around. It has too many bugs at the moment and is losing players fast.

If you want a no monthly fee FPS go for BattleField1942. Still the best on-line shooter with vehilces. Sadly it may lose this title with Unreal Tournament 2004 being released with user operated vehicles later this year.

Then again all will fall before Doom III which by all accounts has a revolutionary engine and jaw dropping graphics.

and thats your gaming news.......

3. Camping is not adventuring
I swear its like going to Palm Springs some times. You have to wade through people to find a monster to whack and there is already someone whacking it. I would much prefer a lower number of players on a system. It's just not the same exploring a lost cavern if you are having to push other people out of the way.

5. Good point
that added to the XP treadmill that I hear SWG has and I can see how players would be upset.

6. Well, it's my first MMORPG and I am impressed
It is quite addicting...and there are, of course, users and aspects that make it "unfun" sometimes.

But...it is nice being against the Empire, even though I let my anti-Empire comments slip to a bunch of Sycophants. Our argument sounded a lot like the Lib vs Conserv ones going on in real life right now....and it certainly brought the point home that I'm REALLY glad that patriotism isn't at the barrel of a gun yet in these Great United States, unlike what I had to deal with last night.

I won't try to sell you on it except to say that it's great having an open-ended Star Wars universe to play in. I'd rather be there right now, then here dealing with shrubbery and skullduggery.
