Just finished reading Dylan's book Chronicles
He's pretty clear where he stands politically, even tho he is not a voting man.

The best read I have had in ages. Masterful writer.

1. It's pretty enlightening.
I'm glad he wrote about the making of "new Morning," as that's my favorite Dylan album. (I wonder why he didn't talk much about why he played piano so much on "New Morning" while he rarely did on any of his other albums. Just like most rock writing, it's always the lyrics that take precidence, I suppose.)

I hope he does another book and talk about his Fundie Christian phase; maybe then we'd understand America's own Fundie Christian phase (y'know, the one we're living through right now)

2. Yeah, there's so much he didn't cover
But I have renewed respect for him as someone who was thrust into becoming the poster child of the anti war movement, but all he wanted was to play music. His descriptions of developing his style, his commitment to becoming an incredible songwriter are just overwhelmingly emotional.

3. I picked it up & didn't put it down until I finished it.
 The next one comes out this fall, IIRC.

5. This fall, huh? Can't wait.
I read it in 2 nights. It sort of shifted my plans for the next 6 months. I'm packing up and heading north.
