Do you worry alot?
I kept a list of everything I worried about for a year. At the end of the year I went over the list. Not one thing I wasted time worrying about happened.

"Worry is an addiction
That interferes with compassion" Tao :wow:

1. All the time.
But I try to keep my worrying to the important stuff. I'm going to have gray hair by the time I turn 21.

3. That's because you worried about it!
I'm an obsessive worrier, and I tell myself it has talismanic value.

Only the bad things I never thought to worry about ever happened...

6. Yes.
About everything. The past, present, and future.

I think it's genetic...I have relatives just like me.

7. My old friend's late mom had a great saying
Edited on Fri May-27-05 04:40 PM by latebloomer
"Most of the things you worry about never happen. The rest of it you can't help anyway."

Or here's one by Mark Twain- "I am an old man and have experienced many troubles , most of which never happened."

Having said that-- Yes, I worry all the f#@$in time!! I have free-floating anxiety-- it constantly finds something new to attach itself to.

Though I have a few old favorites I pull out constantly. . .

If there isn't something real to worry about, I make something up. Sigh.

BTW, what does the Tao have to say about getting rid of anxiety and worry?

10. Sometimes, yes...
I'm learning to do it less and less, though.

Thanks for the quote.

11. I used to work with a guy who
used to tell me, "You worry about the wrong things." So yeah, I guess I do worry. Could be why I found DU. :)
