The night before we went to Lewis Black, Mr. Nownow and I were walking through Meijer and I remarked that the bags of candy corn on the shelves were probably older than we were, since nobody eats that stuff, and that I thought they'd probably only made about six tons of candy corn ever, and the same bags were on the shelves every year at every store, kind of like the eternal fruitcakes people's families have been sending around for generations. I think people who like fruitcake -- and candy corn -- are genetic anomalies.

At the show, Black did a routine about candy corn. And how nobody really eats it. It was funnier than my shtick, but then he gets paid to be funny and I get paid to process paperwork.

Paraphrased:

Candy corn is the great disappointment of Lewis Black's life. Every year, somebody puts a bowl of candy corn out, and every year it's the same -- it doesn't taste like candy, it doesn't taste like corn. It has no value.
