I just got off the phone with Gore Vidal.

He was asking after my health again and telling me not to worry. He is such an inciteful human. Told me a very funny story about Peter Otolle...which made me laugh out loud!

We talked politics...the nuclear option and for a few minutes I forgot I was sick. He is very witty and damned nice. I wish I were 20 years older and had known him back when. I like talking to him and it is very comfortable when I do.

i always found the way he speaks interesting to listen to. he comes across as calm and cool but just really interesting. you can just sit and listen to what he has to say all day and never tire of it.

So glad you have the support of a man with such wisdom, wit, and such scholarly historical perspective (not at all a dig about his age).

I was just reading the transcript of his appearance on Bill Maher's show from last week. Was interesting to see him talk about the voting irregularities in OH with more fluency and knowledge than most. Now I know where he more than likely got some of the dirt. :hi:

But I wish he took a sledgehammer to Franken for again minimizing the innumerable irregularities by quoting the MIT professor he had on his show, just days after the election.

Really frustrating.

Somedays I wonder why I tune in to him. Probably for some of the interviews and some of the humor. But his stubborness on certain issues and how he'll repeat the same story ad nauseum is sometimes unbelievably grating.

Did you see him in "Bob Roberts"? He played the democratic senator Bob Roberts ran against using smear tactics and deception. Vidal did a great job.
