Poll question: Don Henley or Glenn Frey?
I'm really going to get smoked for this, aren't I? Eagles-haters will like the last option.
If this doesn't give you a peaceful easy feeling, I apologize for all the earworms. I hope someday to earn your forgiveness, forgiveness, even if, even if, you don't love me anymore.:D

1. I voted for the last option, neither!
But that was because I love both groups; so if I can't have both of them, then I don't want either of them! It makes sense to me, and I hope it makes sense to you, too!

:toast:

6. You can have both; you just have to pick which one you like better
But if I'd been thinking I would have had a slot for Both instead of J.D. Souther. A four-hour power failure cut into my editing time a bit.

9. No, that's the Grateful Dead.
Or maybe Rush. The Eagles are up there, though.

12. Good list.
Aerosmith and Grand Funk Railroad also come to mind.

4. Henley.
I felt that he was the brains behind a lot of the later Eagles stuff which IMO was the best. Though Walsh would be second since he added the beef to it.

5. "Don Henley must die
Don't let him get back together, with Glen Frey."

Sorry I was possessed by the spirit of Mojo Nixon!

7. Bernie Leadon who walked away when he realized that they were...

going to be the Doobie Brothers rather than the Burrito Brothers.
But I do love Randy Meisner's vocal on "Take it to The Limit" (and everything else about the song), and I hate the Eagles.

Apparently, I AM the Bernie Leadon fan club :)

11. I love Bernie
But I also believe Bernie is still kicking himself for the multi-millions of dollars from which he walked away for not hanging in there for "Hotel California."

B-)

8. Dude, I will bash your skull in.
:)

Suffice to say that any song released by the band had to pass the ear tests of Don and Glen. Their voices are quite different, but Henley has an uncanny ability to adapt his voice so it will blend with Glen's, beautifully. Henley did the same thing with other artists, male and female, while singing harmony.

I could get sued for this, but I was once in a position to hear the protection copy of a rhythm track recorded for "The Long Run." It was recorded five piece live, with a metronome. And it was nowhere near the first take. Those guys worked their asses off in an attempt to transfer emotion to tape.

I could go on, but this could get real boring to most. So I will shut up.

PS. Thank you, Eagles, for leaving the ping pong table behind.

10. Don Henley, though
... I am one of those weirdos who likes their earlier albums the most, so maybe I should've given Bernie Leadon some support! On the Border and One of These Nights are my favorite Eagles albums.

And "Take It to the Limit" has to be their greatest single in my book; one of my favorite singles EVER, actually...

13. Does it piss you off?
Does it piss you off that Eagles still perform "Take It To The Limit" live, with Glen singing?

Weird.

14. It's also one of my favorite singles ever...
and I hate everything else they did.
Everything about it is flawless- the melody, vocal, lyrics, string arrangement, production...absolutely beautiful
