Behold, I have sold out! (New Jersey and Philly DUers, take note!)
I've agreed to play some gigs at the Jersey Shore (and one in Philadelphia) with some old pals. I never thought I'd see the day when I was playing Maroon 5 material in front of other people, but it looks like it's going to happen. Actually, most of the set is standard cover band fare that I enjoy playing, but I never thought I'd see the day when I actually did it.

We Trying to Stay Alive (Wyclef Jean) (Fm) (Same tune as Staying Alive by
Bee Gees)
Let’s Groove (Earth Wind and Fire) (Em)

Rock Your Body (Justin Timberlake) (Em)
Signs (Justin/Snoop) (Em)
Get Down Tonight (KC) (F)
That’s The Way (KC) (Cm)
Sunday Morning (Maroon 5) (Bb) (Whole step lower than the
recording)
Walking on Sunshine (G)
Walk Like an Egyptian (B)
Summer of 69 (D)
American Girl (D)
The Middle (Jimmy Eat World) (D)
Mr. Brightside (The Killers) (D) (1/2 step higher than recording)

Kiss (Prince) (A)
Funky Music (E)

9. Do tell them to say hello.
I've compiled every song (49!) on the list into my iPod, and will now begin the process of learning it all in a little over a week. Less, considering other commitments. Luckily, I know a good portion of the material already, but some review is always nice.

4. Sweet Caroline? Oh god.
Not in the style of that guy who used to play up in Belmar and around Monmouth County, with the "so good, so good, so good" and the "hands" schtick?

Ohhh, thats some bad Jersey shore bar guy with a guitar cliche stuff there, man.

5. This is "Vibe Tribe" (members of Crystal Roxx & Rhythm and Bluefish)
I very seriously doubt we'll sound anything like the gentleman you describe. :) I imagine the "so good, so good, so good" thing might occur, as most drunken shore bar patrons are genetically programmed to do it whether they want to or not, and whether the band encourages it or not. I believe it's the same segment of DNA that forces people to yell "SALT, SALT, SALT" during "Margaritaville".

normally when sober and not down the shore, I find Neil Diamond's music to be some of the dorkiest music ever recorded...but dammit I've done the "so good" thing too and I don't know why.

btw
congrats on the dates...I loves me some live music down at the shore, in fact I'm counting down the days until Memorial day when I go down to LBI and get to indulge in some

7. "PLAY FREEBIRD"
Have fun in AC. I saw the Sex Pistols in Trump Marina, whatta trip, walked out of a sex pistols show into a dingy crap-tacular Trump casino (The Trump brand is known for being dingy and crap-tacular, thats their "theme," aggresively second-rate and proud of it; fundamentally, Trump is a Philadelphian at heart)where blue-haired ladies sat on stools chainsmoking and playing slots.
