Your pet's favorite toy
My dog is IN LOVE WITH THIS THING! She carries it around with her EVERYWHERE and even sleeps with it!

How 'bout the rest of you?

7. One of my cats love the plastic rings from milk containers
he carries it around in his mouth, and then brings it on my bed, pretends to kill it, and leaves it as a present.

My other cat chases reflections, and I have a laser pointer that drives him insane. He ASKS me to play with the pointer by pawing it and looking at me forlornly.

And of course, as ET Awful mentioned, their favorite toy is the other cat, often at 3 AM.

... take off the eyes/noses/etc and reinforce the seams with a quick sew job ... and they're good to go.

The ones from PetSmart etc seem to fall apart faster than the Goodwill ones ... and cost 10x as much.

Hank doesn't like the hard rubber chewy guys - he likes his stuffies.
He's wierd like that.

She loves to drag peanuts from the toy and then shred them ! As with most parrots in captivity ~ they're more interested in something to tear-up for nesting material :silly: or just for the heck of it.

She is a never ending bundle of energy always looking for anything new that catches her interest.

52. She is 4 and in perfect plumage
When I take her out in public, she wears a :silly: harness with a leash. I always try to discourage the casual pet owner from having a bird as a companion. In my opinion they are the most high maintenance of all the legally owned wild pets. They throw seeds everywhere however their poo doesn't smell. She owns my heart and she can outlive me so it isn't likely that I will ever have to say *see you on the other side of the rainbow bridge* to her as I have to the other special creatures in my life.

20. My dog LOVES the kong dog toy
He can't get enough of it:

Thankfully it is indesctructible.

He destroys all other toys with the exception of a green stuffed froggie (with squeeker inside) that he carries around like a baby for about 3 months before ripping it apart. The good news is that the frogs are fairly inexpensive (at Petsmart) so I just replace it when he's ready for a new one.

69. Nope - it just squeeks
And he loves it like his own baby (for about 3 months). Then he rips the head and tears out the stuffing. I think he does this when he feels ignored, like if company comes over and he's not getting the attention he deserves. I say to him "you ripped your baby's brains out" and he just wags his tail at me. :)

but I have to keep an eye on them, lest they become plastic bag poop. Otherwise my Boston's favorite is her rubber frisbee and her squeaky balls. My Rattie prefers rawhide chews and a thin strip of canvas that was meant to tie up the drapes. She's a pup, so anything with "bite" is fun.

49. When my ferret was alive
Edited on Thu May-05-05 11:40 AM by TlalocW
Her favorite toys were the Dr. Schoal's insoles I put in my running shoes. I first discovered this when I got up in the morning to go to the gym, and my shoes felt loose. So I had to hunt them down.

In the picture below, they're the blue and red thing sticking a little bit out of my shoe. I started putting them on top of this bookcase I made out of something called "Creative Cubes" (a metal version of Yaffa Blocks). They're modular, snap together shelves. However, as seen in the second picture, she quickly learned to climb them like a ladder to get to the top to reach her goals of my stinky shoes.

I've since taken apart those shelves and have made them into a three story ferret cage as I'm planning on getting three ferrets from an animal shelter - possibly as soon as today.

64. Yup
Yeah, we have 5 - technically one over the county limit, but they pretty much stay indoors and we try not to annoy the neighbors. We have 2 former racing greyhounds, 2 whippets, one an adoption and one whom we bought from a local pet store "puppy wall" because, well, he was there and my husband saw him and my birthday was in 3 months. The last is a mutant Siberian Husky. He is also an adoption. He is huge. Not overly heavy, just huge. 100 pounds plus. He was thrown out his former home when he got past the "cute puppy" phase and does not like going to the vet's. He has one of the "beware" dog stickers on his file there. But our last visit we solved the problem of how to give him shots - our 2 year old daughter feeds him dog treats while the vet gives him the injections. The vet couldn't get over how the 2 year old could manage him and she and her minions couldn't. We were told by the rescue people that he had been raised with children and since we were hoping to adopt a child we were pleased to hear that. As soon as our daughter came into the house, they were best buddies. He will tolerate things from her that he won't, even from us. We have a great photo of her putting a Mickey Mouse ears hat on him and the look of resignation on his face is pricelss.

59. The sale these stuffed toys at Target
that are virtually impossible for a dog to shred (well at least they last 8 months) - they include One Bad Cat, Postal Plaything, and Cat Burglar - really cute - they have stuff on the inside that makes a crinkly noise and they have a "floppability" factor so dogs can shake them hard. My dogs love them

65. It used to squeak
until they ripped out the squeaky thing and tore it apart. The ropes formed loops, until they were running around the yard tugging on either end and broke it. I think I bought it at a Big Lots for $2.00.

67. superscratcher for the cat .. he loves it, and it's such a smart toy
The SuperScratcher® a rectangular box no thicker than an average telephone book, is an inexpensive, unobtrusive and deceptively simple pet product whose sole purpose appears to be sheer feline pleasure. The SuperScratcher®'s ability, however, to turn otherwise indifferent cats into obsessed love slaves often overshadows its main purpose: to provide an alternate "scratching" outlet for cats who often choose sofas, chairs, curtains and other inappropriate household surfaces to indulge their natural need to scratch.

Cats are initially drawn atop the SuperScratcher® by the integrated catnip, a potent blend of organically grown blossoms and leaves. There they discover the paw-pleasing texture of recycled corrugated cardboard, which is similar to tree bark -- nature's scratching post.

He sniffed the thing out of the bag, and started to attack on Christmas eve before I was even able to get in the door. (so much for a surprise)

79. my cats' favorite toys are each other
They love playing together. Manilla likes to play with my hair bands (he'll carry them around, throw them up in the air, hide them). Morty likes to play with small mice (especially if they have cat nip).

80. My cat loves my kids' toys
Anything small enough to flip in the air and attack. He also has a long, fuzzy strip of cloth in a leapord print that used to be part of an actual cat toy(it was on the end of a stick),with feathers on the end.

83. Rabbit foot, like you get as a "good luck" keychain. The ones that
come in bright ugly colors. My Siamese stole one from my daughter and had so much fun with it we started buying them in the 50 cent vending machines at KMart; then when we couldn't find those, my husband tracked down a gross of them at a novelty wholesaler. That cat was in a frenzy when we opened the box. We had to hide the bulk of them and only allow him to have a few at a time.

He would hockey puck them under the washer, dryer, refrigerator, etc., then pace back and forth in front of the offending appliance moaning in that Siamese way until we raked them out with the yardstick. He was obsessed with them.

One of our young cats had a thing for Mardi Gras Beads. Used to carry them around in her mouth, eyes all huge and whiskers out front. Too funny. Her brother Lewis has a fetish for the cardboard tubes inside th toilet paper or paper towels and both Lewis and Clark have been caught stealing brand new toilet paper rolls from the cabinet and destroying them quite effectively.

They have furry mice too. And Lewis loves the little strips that tear off the bags of grated cheese or the baby carrots.

84. My cat loves little fuzzy balls and used q-tips.
My dog only likes one of her stuffed animals which she tries very hard to kill and her rope toy for tug-of-war. When I was a kid I would play ball with my grandma's dog until his tongue was dragging on the grass. Lucky me, I finally get my own dog and she won't fetch a ball if her life depended on it.

85. Mr. Square..
It's a little puppy toy that has a squeaker in the square body. It's the only toy her little jaws can squeak, so she loves it.
