6. Not really a GoGo's fan..the music was pablum
Bananarama at least were consistently about QUALITY even if you don't like their songs...Cruel Summer is practically an ANTHEM of the 80's..and all of their stuff is quite dancable

Edited on Wed May-04-05 10:01 AM by jonnyblitz
I loved. the remake of shocking blue's venus i really liked..:P

I saw the Bangles twice live, once in a bar and once backing up Cindy Lauper in the 80's and they always bored me. I HATE "walk like an egyptian"..ewwwww

37. That's the point behind why the Bangles were a good band.
They stretched their talent as far as possible with good songwriters and good studio musicians.

32. Didja ever see them in their pre-IRS days?
They played at the same sort of clubs that X did. (FWIW, I'm not an Angeleno, just visited there a LOT).

They were much harder-edged then.

18. Gotta be the Bangles
Sure "Cruel Summer" is cool, but there's not really much of a comparison when you consider their overall output, IMHO.

30. The Peterson sisters are still hot!!
I saw the Bangles a couple of weeks ago with a friend. He and I always talk about what a "crush" we have on Vicki Peterson. I told him, "There is something sexy about a woman playing guitar. If she can play lead guitar (like Vicki), forget about it!! " (Vicky is a very good guitar player.)

They both looked great that night. The drummer, Debbie, is so tall. She was wearing a short skirt and boots (my wife told me to stop drooling)...she has legs that go on forever!!

when you realized Bailey is the hot one, not the woman everyone else is focusing on.

before Cherie Curie. Therefore the Bangles win.

haha... actually, I liked Walk Like an Egyptian... but I too was thinking of Bow Wow Wow when I clicked on this (specifically the beautiful and scary AnnaBella; bad bald girls just don't get sexier than her!)...
Wonder where they all are today?...

24. Both are good but I had to vote Bananarama
because I actually own some of their albums.
I don't own any of the Bangles' albums, so I guess I must like Bananrama more.

But the Go-Go's are the best "girl" group of the 80s. No question.

Bananarama are merely pop tarts! I did like some of their songs though.

But I voted Bangles.

27. The Bangles!! Hands down!! I saw the Bangles two weeks ago...
they really can play!! Vicki Pederson is quite a guitarist, and her sister is a pretty good drummer. Not to mention how cute Susanna Hoffs is...

Unfortunately, Michael Steele is no longer with the band. She really added a lot to their harmonies.

Easy choice, of the two.

But I don't really like "Walk Like an Egyptian" and that stupid dance that didn't even come from that song. Yuck.
