DU. It's not just about politics. Its about cats vs dogs. Its about the latest movie. Its about venting that the news keeps covering the runaway bride. Its about community.

Yes the focus is politics. Specifically Democratic politics. We are a community, a refuge reserved for Democrats to discuss politics and share our lives with each other.

Into our community some attempt to infiltrate. Some coming from oppositional communities. Some for their own reasons. And yet others for reasons that even they may not understand.

We do not know what motivated the recent events. Many here trusted this person. Its difficult for them to know what to make of this. They are going to be confused. They are going to feel alienated. But they are still part of our community.

An person infiltrated our community for unknown purposes. He seems to have misrepresented himself for an extended period of time. He was quite convincing to many people. The community was within its rights to defend itself. But there are those who cannot yet reconcile these issues. And they do not know where to turn to understand this.

Those that brought down the interloper are understandably joyous that they were able to recognize an infiltrator. But we do not know the why. We do not know if the actions were performed due to real personal issues or if they were for a more malicious purpose. From the evidence before us we cannot discern this matter. And so for those that cared for the persona they believed to be present there is no consolation.

Our community was violated. Some are glad the violator is gone. Some do not yet understand the reason or reality of the matter. Now is the time for our community to stand together. To try to help those in need to make sense of what happened. And to find our way forward again.
