2. Ray Romano. Meh.
It's a pretty good episode so far, but I don't love Raymond.

They should have ended this show while it was on top of its form seven years ago. It's gone on for waaaaay too long.

(I'm the unofficial Simpsons thread party pooper)

7. I wish I could disagree, but I can't.
I've seen every episode, pre-12th season, at least a dozen times (I've worked at multiple FOX stations over the years, and running a couple of hours of Simpsons daily was normal).

I can tell you the episode within 5-10 seconds of the beginning.

I play two versions of the Simpsons trivia game at Level 5, the highest level possible.

I'm a major fan...and the show SUCKS now. Sucks, sucks, sucks.

They should either let the kids start growing up (instant storylines) and PAY ATTENTION TO THE CHARACTERS AND NOT THE GODDAMN 'ZANY' SITUATIONS, or let the show end already.

It pains me to say all that, too.

PS: Ray Romano is SO overrated it's not funny (nor is he).

14. I know when
It was at the moment that Comic Book Guy-esque fanboys started complaining that last year's season was better. I believe that started in about 1991 for most of the disgruntled whiners.

15. Hmmm...
...it was such a gradual slide that it's hard to tell. I'd say the season 9 episode where we find out Principal Skinner is an imposter is a good marking point, but there were a number of good episodes that year. The next year was when I really noticed the quality was gone, in that episode where Homer and Bart were in the "grease" business. Yeesh.

21. that's easy-when mike scully took over
that was the beginning of shock value writing - barney goes sober, maude dies, skinner a fake, etc

pointless cameos of celbrities playing themselves. guest spots by people who the show would have lampooned in its prime (kid rock, n sync)

talking animals, plots that revolve around homer getting a new job, supporting characters diapeearing and every show revolving around the family, homer going from a lovable oaf to an obnoxious kerk

and the digital animation began around this time, which made the show rely too much on overly long physical humor

seasons 1-8 are some of the best stuff ever put on tv, but the shoe sucks now.

and it's not a matter of it slipping a bit-the old'bad simpsons is better than most stuff on tv" excuse doesn't work anymore. the show is just flat-out awful now and is truly bad TV

A whole cartoon about why we should stop corporations like pepsi from invading schools. Awesome.

You know...that episode where the Simpson family moves to that nice town for Homer can work at Scorpio's plant?

The guy that played Scorpio, Albert Brooks, was Tab Spangler in tonight's episodes.
