47. driving just before dawn and watching the world wake up is great

One of the most magnificent mornings one trip home was on I 95. As I reached the top of a curve just south of Baltimore the entire harbor was kissed by the rays of the morning sun. The sky and the water were gleaming with the most beautiful shades of pinks and purples. I was almost alone on a stretch of I 95 that was 5 lanes wide and empty.

Yes ~ that was a beautiful morning for Miss Frodie and me !

49. later that same beautiful Sunday morning

After driving for hours, I decided to stop for breakfast before continuing my trip north. I hoped the outside temperature wouldn't cool the interior of my truck as I was refueling ~ because I was traveling with my precious Blue and Gold Macaw, Frodo. I've been blessed with her company since she was 13 weeks old. On the days when we travel together I always get a takeout meal that's parrot friendly and we share.

I listen to books on tape as I drive, it's a wonderful way to make the miles seem shorter than they are. As I began to look for an exit with both food and fuel - I noticed there wasn't any traffic traveling south on I 95 and wondered why as I continued looking for a place to stop.

As I approached my exit I saw the reason for the absence of cars. A helicopter was sitting on the roadway while two victims of a one car accident were being placed on-board for a transport to the nearest hospital.

There was little more that a traffic alert broadcast about the wreck. Information about that accident was the first search I did upon returning home. One survivor !
