Just found out one of the all time greats passed away a couple of days ago...Hasil Adkins...the one man band...

I actually got to see him live a couple of years ago...he had to take LONG breathers (and smoke breaks!) between songs, but he played HARD...a really fun show...anyways, we'll miss ya Hasil!!!!

Years ago, I got into an argument with a kid from France who was convinced that Haze was a long-dead, previously unknown '30s-era act whose recordings had recently been exhumed. I pointed out that he'd just recorded a live album in Chicago the year before and had a new release scheduled on Fat Possum, but that didn't sway him.

Well it ain't like he was young or anything, but to the end, he brought the ROCK with him to his shows. I'm gonna go down to the corner and get me a hot dog in his honor.
