12. Okay, what I say just before they put me under is

"Don't kill me!" (I always feel we should be clear on this.)

And "Leave me the good parts and take nothing you are not entitled to take (at the last minute they have this funny habit of trying to make one sign up for more...nonononono)." (Again, it never hurts to be clear.)

I wish you the best. Remember, a hospital is the opposite of real life. It is the only place you can go where someone will shout down the corridor, "Have you moved your bowels, yet?" Move them. They won't feed you till you do.
