I found an old Katherine Hepburn gem.
Edited on Sat Jul-19-03 01:31 PM by Archae
I found on a tape, this classical music piece called "Lincoln Tribute" or something like that.

It's a classical music piece, with a narrator speaking about Abraham Lincoln, and using some of his quotes.

Anyway, the narrator on this one I found is Katherine Hepburn.
And she does it really well.

On edit: &%$#@ typos!

2. It's probably
"A LIncoln Portrait" by Aaron Copeland, who was born in New York and trained in Paris, and who also wrote "Appalachian Spring," the ballets "Rodeo" (from which the rollicking music behind the beef council commercials was taken) and "Billy the Kid," several movie soundtracks, and an opera "The Tender Land."

3. I looked it up.
And you're right.

Too bad today's GOP never heard it.

4. Lincoln Portrait by Aaron Copland
BTW - there's no "e" in Copland.

Our local orchestra - the Las Vegas Philharmonic - played a portion of the piece on this year's July 4th concert with Sen Harry Reid as narrator. I gave him a "B" as he flubbed a few lines.
