Two Girls Left Dangling 900 feet in the air in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS-April 24, 2005 — Two Las Vegas girls got a lot more of a ride than they bargained for when one of the great attractions in Sin City came to a screeching halt.

The girls were left dangling on the Insanity Ride when it got stuck 900-feet above the strip. They hung there for more than an hour.

Nothing but a safety belt held them in as 30 to 50 mile per hour winds reportedly whipped around the ride. The ride wasn't supposed to be running in winds that strong.

Three security guards scaled the tower using chains to manually pull the girls to safety.

The ride's owner offered them a year of free rides. They declined.

2. As a kid I was offered a free ride after vomiting

on a ride that spins around and tilts up. The guy next to me was the unfortunate recipient.

I just looked at him with an incredulous look, like 'You've got to be kidding.'

IF the Insanity Ride is the thing that shoots you out about 20 feet and then back....no thank you especially now.
