Poll question: Favorite kind of salad dressing
And a question for straight women and gay men. Does bleu cheese dressing really taste like penis? That's what Anton LaVey said once.

4. any unusual uses for salad dressing?
For example, a friend of mine likes to dip fried chicken livers in ranch dressing.

5. For marinading steaks or ANY kind of meat
Try Roasted Garlic Vinairette by Kraft. Start by sprinkling on Montreal Steak seasoning, a dry seasoning, then add some cracked black pepper, and finally pour on the roasted garlic vinaigrette, and you have one damned fine marinade. Let it rest for a couple of hours, and then throw it on the grill. REally Really GOOD!

8. that sounds good!
I messed up once doing something similar. I didn't dry the steaks off before putting them on the grill, and it ended up *steaming* the steaks. The texture of the meat sucked, but the taste was good.

6. My Own
A sweet rich vinagrette made to order for each meal. The recipe has been developed over many years and is a closely guarded secret. My Italtian ex taught me the basics but it has been greatly improved.

10. ha!
Just to let you know, I'm not a Satanist or anything! I read an interview with LaVey once, I think it was in Rolling Stone. I thought it was a pretty weird comment. He thought only "sissies" ate bleu cheese dressing 'cause it tasted like that. But I wondered how he would know. Of course, he was just a bullshit artist.

19. Actually, bleu cheese dressing tastes like bleu cheese
Which is what's so good about it.

I'm also pretty fond of parmesan pepper and of poppyseed, but nothing beats a well-made bleu cheese.

20. My own, and only my own
I'm allergic to vinegar and cheese, so I have devised my own, which consists of fresh lemon juice, good olive oil, salt, pepper, fresh garlic, and a bit of fresh or dried tarragon. It's wonderful!!

s_m

P.S. You could add feta cheese, or bleu if you eliminated the tarragon, but please, no vinegar, just lemon juice!

23. Caesar
USed to be ranch.

But it depends, really, on what's around and what's best - a basic balsamic/olive-oil mix does well very often.

25. nothing with sugar in it
I don't like any kind of sweetener in salad dressing. So I read the label. No corn sweetener, nothing like that. Won't buy it!

We get a product called "Uncle Dan's" that has a dill ranch that comes in a packet to mix with mayo and milk. It's good.

And I like Emeril's Caesar dressing. Bam!

26. I see you are boycotting the French
I am not sure they make the Kraft French I had as a kid. Now what used to be called "Western" is called French as far as I can tell.

I would hope that straight women and gay men are not eating "penis". The word you are looking for is "semen".

Q: What is long and hard and holds semen?
A: A submarine.
