My little old lady cat threw up blood today.
She is a rescue. the vet(2years ago) said that she'd had a rough life.
Some jerk declawed her, then set her out to fend for herself. She's missing an ear(the vet said frostbite) and has advanced gum disease, and missing teeth. They can't see her tonight, and I have to call tomorrow morning at 8am to see if they have any cancelations. Please send Twitch some good thoughts or prayers.

That sounds very serious indeed. :(

On edit - do you have any emergency vets nearby?

2. I am sending all my good thoughts.
Did the vet not seem worried? Is it possible she might just have worms?

25. Thank you so much. She was just too old, and had had too hard
of a life for too long. Thats what the vet said anyway.

7. Poor kitty
Does she seem frightened? Is she allowing people to go near her? I'm just thinking that she probably needs some comforting, as well as good vet care.
I wish you and Twitch the best.

8. She's in her favorite spot on the loveseat.
I had her in my lap, but she couldn't get comfortable. I think she's waiting for my son to get home.

13. Sorryfor taking so long to get back.
Thank you everyone. She didn't make it. She had a large mass in her stomach and her kidneys were shutting down, and she was in a lot of pain. We were kind of destroyed here yesterday. Although we only had her 3 years, she became one of us. I just don't know how she could have gotten so sick, and we didn't notice. Poor little girl. My cable took a dump right after I posted the thread which is why I couldn't reply to everyone. Thank you all.

16. Thank you. I hope so.
That's what the vet said. We didn't have to work very hard to beat her previous life. Kindness, food, and a safe place.

21. Thank you auntAgonist.
I guess this is the down side of sharing your life with the little ones. God, their lives are short. I wonder if it ever gets any easier.

22. I wonder too .. if it gets easier.
I think the pain diminishes and the memories grow stronger. At least that's what I hope happens. Give yourself time, cherish the purrs and scratches and antics of your dear pet.

I really wish we could have done more, or found her earlier, or something. It just feels like so little.

31. My son hurts the worst.
He was the best friend Twitch had. He found her and paid the most attention to her, and he's the one that held her safe while the vet eased her out. I was a mess, out sniffing and upsetting the other pet owners in the waiting room.
