somethimes you can post threads that people are interested in and other times not. I've been here a couple of years now and my post count is relatively low. Usually other people say what I have to say better than I do so I just read. I'm not one of those people that post just to increase my count. It matters not to me to be king of the hill.

It used to bother me that on those few occasions that I sit down and write something thoughtful and from the heart I would get no replies, yet two nights later I would post something frivolous in the Lounge and Boom! 40 silly replies.

After a few years here I realize that a lot of people here read, but don't reply.

7. That only happened to me once

I rarely start threads but I've always had at least a few replies when I do except for one that I worked very hard on. I think people sense one's ambition sometimes and don't want to encourage it. ;-)
Here's some tips:
1) Start a poll and leave out one or two obvious options. Folks can't help but call you on it.
2) Say that you're drunk or stoned and post something incomprehensible. Folks seem to love to talk to the inebriated.
3) Indicate that you are posting pictures of dogs and/or cats. Puppies and/or kittens are surefire.
4) Use the word "Kleeb" anywhere in your subject line.

Post something that's either controversial or something that everyone disagrees with. The more negative the subject the better. Lots of people around here seem to love negativity.

If that doesn't work, try this for a thread title: "I slept with Michael Jackson in 1994 when I turned 10. Ask me anything!" I guarantee you'll get lots of replies. :evilgrin:

It depends on where you post, time of day, and what else is going on. It's not necessarily you, or what you have to say. I've gotten totally overlooked, at times, then received over 100 replies when I asked for advice for my sick little dog, who refused to take his meds, on a Saturday night, when no vet was available. DUers can be very compassionate, but things move very fast in The Lounge, and posts sometimes get buried too fast. You may want to try a slower forum. Or PM me and ask me to kick your thread, before it gets lost.:-)
