the burger was this big horking thing. Thought I would have some quality time with Murphee over supper, eat my burger, surf the net, and chill with the bird.


So here she was inching down my arm and just sneaking closer and closer to that burger. :evilgrin:

5. They love meat!!!

If you want to watch her go really crazy, break a chicken bone so she can get to the marrow!!!!!

The macaw, of course, cracks the bone all by herself, but you'll have to crack it for the tiel.

We tell Tequila she's eating her cousin, but she doesn't care.

10. Yeah, at first it sounded odd....

feeding a bird chicken and scrambled eggs, etc, but that's what is recommended (in small quantities of course!)

6. My Eclectus Hen...

loves, and I mean LOVES meat! Steak, burger, chicken, salmon w/hollandaise(yup!), just lay it out for her and she destroys it. It cannot have too much hot pepper on it, either. Garlic too. She loves garlic.

There is something vaguely disturbing about a parrot with garlic breath, ya' know? ;-)

7. Of course.....

when you're eating something, the bird HAS to have some too. That's how some people get their birds to eat something that they turn up their beaks at. Eat it in front of them, tell them how yummy it is, and it's hard for most of them to resist.

9. I tried that yesterday....

ate some fruit, so Murphee would eat her banana and papaya chips, etc.
