Go to the upper right corner and click the "Satellite" option. I have a close-up of my house up right now. Related article here:

5. Well, here is what I know from mine.
Edited on Tue Apr-05-05 04:56 PM by Worst Username Ever
My neighborhood is green, so it is not the late fall, winter, or early spring months. Also, the neighborhood pool is clearly empty, so it is not summer. So I would say either late spring or early fall. Also, the parking lot at my work is empty, so it was probably the weekend :)

I'd say they are last year's photos....

9. heh
where I live now is blocked from sadillite veiw,,Probably becausae of aberdeep proving ground...

But I went to a place I lived awhile ago in Manaaasa Va, Our neighbors had thier backyard surrounded by high cinderblock walls on all sides,Now I know why they had the walls up

A concealed swimming pool. I suspected it.Now I know.
But what makes me laugh is if google can get this close to a house that wall they built in some effects that wall has just become kinda useless.

11. Old, old pictures.
The pictures of my area HAVE to be at least three years old, because three years ago, new homes were built behind us and they aren't present on those pics. Plus a major road near us now goes through and it still shows it as ending where it used to.

But cool! I'm gonna look at other places!

12. The ability to toggle
between phot and map is wonderful. I've been using googlemaps because it is head and shoulders above the crap known as mapquest, but this is a wonderful new feature.

20. Queen Mary in Long Beach.
Easy.

Howard Hugh's "Spruce Goose" used to be in that dome. (Now it's in Oregon.)

Agent Mike is gonna call me for sure now.

Damn you, ronnykmarshall.

19. Oh My Goodness. If I'd had this tool as a young man...
...I'd probably be in a federal prison.

Here's a nice photo of California's San Onofre Nuclear power plant:

http://maps.google.com/maps?q=%22San+Clemente%22&ll=33.370092,-117.556769&spn=0.008208,0.010664&t=k&hl=en

If I'm not mistaken (it was a long time ago) this is the Humboldt Bay Nuclear Power Plant, which was California's first commercial nuclear power plant built in 1963. It was pretty much earthquake-and-tsunami bait until Pacific Gas and Electric closed it.

http://maps.google.com/maps?q=eureka+California&ll=40.741296,-124.209495&spn=0.008208,0.010664&t=k&hl=en

I'm very fond of the Humboldt plant. It was built and run like a Navy boat floating on wet dirt.

There are a lot of other addresses I'd like to type in, but I'm a little bit afraid someone is watching.

I haven't seen this in a while. I'll have to look (although I'm deathly afraid to do so-- my yard is half dug up).
