The Arizona State vs North Carolina Thread
Go Sun Devils! Andrew Walter will be ready to kick some Tar Heel ass after being named Pac-10 player of the week. Also Dirk Koetter is fired up after stomping Oregon 59-14

Mods lock this thread if it doesn't get any replies which it probaly won't.

1. Yeah, but "kicking some Tarheel ass"
won't mean a whole lot this year VermontDem2004, with the way they are playing. P U ! They stink on the gridiron (1-5) :hi:

They actually played the way they are supposed too. I always knew the Sun Devils had talent like this but they shot themselves in the foot in alot of the games they played earlier this season, they fully executted when it count and didn't have a let down in the 3rd quarter like the Sun Devils had in the 3 games before that, they scored on all 6 possesions in the 2nd half. Too bad they waited til the 6 game to actually play the way they are talented, but better late then never. Andrew Walter finally pick up where he finished last season.

5. Plus, Oregon's secondary couldn't cover me.
Michigan's special teams did them in, or they'd have beaten the Ducks, too.

(Sorry to my friend John, a U of O graduate, but it's the truth.)

6. I agree Oregon's scendary is weak
But Arizona State did well in all phases of the game, pass defense, rush defense, passing, running, Walter making plays while under pressure. He threw to guys that were covered but he was so accurate in his throws it was amazing, he was the right pick for Pac-10 player of the week.

7. sorry I can't count past 59 anyway
wow. they really bombed the Ducks. Can they run the table? I was with you a few weeks ago.

35-14 winners this week. No top 25 for a while though.

8. If they can beat NC and UCLA
they will be on the waiting list. North Carolina has a weaker pass defense then Oregon, but Durant gave us problems last year. But I like the Sun Devils chances in this one. I hope they win the rest of their games.

x( x(

Saturday will be a mess trying to get around then. We have the NC State Fair opening tomorrow as well. If Duke or NC State are also playing at home, I think I'll just move to the other side of the state for the day. :D

Just checked: Duke is at home against Wake Forrest on Saturday as well.

Might be a good day to head down to Seagrove and contemplate pottery!

18. Ah yes the soon to be classic BC vs. Wake game
I'm against the whole ACC expansion anyway. The basketball tournament will be ruined and I hate to say it but the ACC is and always will be a basketball tournament. I understand the "growth" thing but I don't like it.

One ACC championship game I was so into the game (Wake ins the Duncan era) that I didn't notice/hear a water main that had busted in our back storage room. My girlfriend at the time came home and said "Do you hear water running?" "Uh huh...yeah whatever....."

Yes, the ACC is really a b'ball conference more than anything. I hate that they want to be like everybody else with the football. Is football more lucrative on TV than basketball? I don't know.

That means more teams will de facto be left out of the basketball tournament at the end of the season. Less chance for cinderella stories (like State '83).
