Sonic.
Good burgers, great onion rings, and they gave more to the Democrats in 2004 that any other fast-food chain I know of.

21. Plenty of them in this part of the country.
They might have some franchises in some blue states somewhere, but they are quite popular in the south. Makes it even more ironic that they contributed so much to the Dems last time around.

20. Just about anything; depends on my mood at the moment.
I'm a musician, so I can appreciate good music in most any genre.

26. I'm a pianist mainly, also play trombone and a little guitar.
My lips aren't in good shape these days, and I only know enough chords to fake my way through simple songs. But I've kept up with the piano over the years.

But my grandfather's house was taken by TVA when they build Norris Dam back in the '30s.

Not a moment too soon. Remember "don't look into their eyes"!

The TVA is older than I am too. But I still remember people talking about it when I was a child.

25. Yeah, I can almost say, "good bye and good ridance" to ol' Pat!
I've been up to my grandfather's old place; small community of maybe 60 people back in the day, but TVA wiped out most of the homes in the area, and they also took out almost every road that led to the area. You almost need a 4-wheel-drive to get there now via mountain logging roads; the few buildings that weren't flooded would have been cut off, so TVA bought out everyone. The foundation of the old house, and the community church next door, are about all that is left. The old family cemetery is still intact, well above the lake on a hillside.

31. Yea ! You escaped ! Talk about progress ...
Sometimes - that which is done for the good of all concerned is a big price to pay for the individual.

So ... what you're telling me is that we all need to seek out the higher ground.

BTW :hi: It's nice to meet ya.
