Sweet merciful crap! I'm not paying a g-note to go to Chicago

Sorry kids, the June CHicago gathering will be HEyHEY free (I'm sure many of you are happy about that). However, the lowest fare I could find was 575$ USD so like $750 Canadian. ANd that would get me there in a brisk 10 FUCKING HOURS.

a Chicago gathering on that date.

The downstaters are talking about a possible meet-up in Champaign or Bloomington, but nothing has been definitely decided yet.

Not a bad idea though. Hopefully, it will warm up by then.

Soometimes those throwaway flights are cheap enough to just use parts of them Of course now with Homeland security you probably cannot do that..

When I was a travel consultant we used to always do that.. I had a businessman who traveled to Paducah KY, and from Chicago to Paducah was EXPENSIVE, but I would use a "point beyond" that connected in Paducah (our favorite was CHI-DFW which was half the price of CHI-PAH) He would just get off the plane in PAH and not get on the PAH-LAX part)..
