Mine for today is that I have not had a drink for 7 straight days (something I have not been able to say for over a year), and was around my buddies watching NASCAR on Sunday while they tipped beers the whole time! I drank bottled water, no problems!

And, after just one week of eliminating beer calories, I can feel that I am starting to lose some weight!

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!

5. Good for you! My news?

I found a friend - a real-life friend - who is a Democrat. A Democrat who, like me, still admires Bill Clinton and who supported John Kerry for president.

The best news of all? This was someone I already knew and liked and spend at least one or two evenings a month socializing with (maybe more now). And the really funny part is that we each ASSumed (due to stereotypes) that the other was a Bush Republican. We were both extremely relieved to find out the truth. It was almost like joining a secret club.
