Poll question: If you were out to dinner with a friend and
they starting talking on there cell phone to a third party what would you do?

I ask because I see this more & more often at restaurants. One person sitting there bored while the other chats away on their cell.

1. It would depend on the level of the relationship and how long they
stayed on the phone, but leaving would NOT be out of the question.

2. I fucking hate that.
That is one of my biggest pet peeves.
If you want to talk to the person you're on the phone with so bad, why are you out with me?

SO annoying.

3. Depends on the call. Is it an emergency? Their kids?
If it's just some friend calling, I'd excuse myself to the men's room. She'd notice sooner or later that I didn't come back.

4. I honestly can't think of any of my friends doing this unless
they had a sick child or parent which would be the only reason they had the phone on in a restaurant in the first place. I do go to one restaurant that has a sign that says that cell phones mess with their ability to make their signature risotto and ask that you turn them off. Always wondered if the claim was true or not.

7. I was out to eat with my husband one night.
A couple was seated right by us. As soon as they sat down the man got on his cell phone & started talking very loudly to a friend.
He only stopped talking long enough to place his order.
If I had been that women I would have dumped my drink and/or my food on his head & walked out.
He also was very disruptive to our dinner.

8. Anybody see Harod & Kumar Go To White Castle?
I thought Kumar's use of the cell phone during his med school interview was inappropriate. Boring cell phone people seem to be the norm, though, nowadays.

Remember Dan Tanna's mobile phone?

11. I read that some folks answer their ringing cells during job interviews!
What's wrong with people? And with people like that out there, why do I have so much trouble getting a job?

9. Napkin, then bread roll, then food.
Okay...maybe not food.

But leaving would be at the end of the toss-fest if nothing changed.
